In hazardous-area explosion-proof refrigeration systems, refrigerant selection is often dictated by a project's regional environmental regulations, thermal control requirements, and system design. As the "heart" of the system, a compressor's ability to be compatible with multiple refrigerants while maintaining absolute safety control under various pressure conditions is a key indicator of engineering maturity in explosion-proof equipment.
As China's only independently IECEx-certified explosion-proof compressor company, CNWINNEX’s affiliated company delivers an explosion-proof compressor series that not only utilizes static positive-pressure (pxb) and multi-layer intrinsic safety protection in its explosion-proof structure but also demonstrates exceptional professionalism and compatibility in its working pressure control matrix—perfectly adapting to 9 mainstream refrigerants to provide highly flexible and absolutely safe underlying power for hazardous-area thermal control projects worldwide.
Compatible with 9 Mainstream Refrigerants: Comprehensive Coverage from Traditional to Eco-Friendly
In response to strict greenhouse gas emission controls in different regions globally, the pressure control system of CNWINNEX explosion-proof compressors natively supports the following 9 refrigerants. Whether it is traditional HCFCs, mainstream HFCs, or highly regarded natural working fluids, it ensures stable operating boundaries:
Classic and Transitional Refrigerants: R22
Mainstream HFC Refrigerants: R134a, R407C, R404A, R507, R410A
Low-GWP Eco-Friendly Alternatives: R448A, R513A
Natural Working Fluid: R290 (Propane) — It is well known that R290 is highly flammable; precise pressure control by the explosion-proof compressor is the absolute core of system safety.
Pressure Control Matrix: Transparent, Precise, and Standardized Lines of Defense
In an explosion-proof air conditioning system, pressure anomalies are often accompanied by temperature runaway or even equipment failure. CNWINNEX has established strict and consistent Working Pressure and Pressure Protection Control Values for all refrigerants, ensuring the system never breaches safety boundaries under any operating condition:
1. Core Working Pressure Range
During operation, the safe working pressure range of the system is strictly limited between 0.25 MPa (Minimum) and 2.2 MPa (Maximum). This range provides a stable physical environment for the static positive-pressure system.
2. High-Pressure Protection Logic (Preventing Overpressure and Condensation Failure)
l Cut-off Value: When system pressure reaches 2.6 ~ 2.8 MPa, the high-pressure protection device will instantly cut off power to prevent compressor overload or pipe burst.
l Recovery & Closing Value: The system will only resume operation after the pressure drops back to the safe range of 2.0 ~ 2.2 MPa, avoiding frequent start-stops.
3. Low-Pressure Protection Logic (Preventing Leakage and Insufficient Refrigerant Return)
l Cut-off Value: When system pressure falls below 0.19 ~ 0.22 MPa, the low-pressure protection device activates to prevent the compressor from idling and damaging itself in a vacuum or under-charged state.
l Recovery & Closing Value: The system automatically resets and operates after the pressure recovers to 0.22 ~ 0.25 MPa.
4. Hardcore Settings of the Pressure Controllers
The intrinsically safe low-pressure and high-pressure controllers are connected in parallel directly to the compressor pipelines, with their core protection trigger points solidly set as:
l Low-Pressure Controller: 0.19 / 0.25 MPa
l High-Pressure Controller: 2.8 / 2.0 MPa
This ensures the accuracy of pressure sensing and allows the intrinsically safe parameters (Ui: 10.5V, Ii: 11.3mA) to be perfectly managed via safety barriers in the safe area.
Engineering Value: Certainty for Project Stakeholders
l Breaking Through Environmental Barriers: Whether facing EU F-Gas regulations requiring R513A or R448A, or needing the extreme cost-effectiveness of R410A, one explosion-proof compressor can meet refrigerant-switching needs for global projects without the need to re-certify or redesign the pressure system.
l Handling Extreme Conditions: Combined with the wide temperature range design of -25°C ≤ Tamb ≤ +60°C, precise pressure control ensures the compressor operates stably under the escort of protection mechanisms in extreme heat (where high pressure spikes) or severe cold (where low pressure drops).
l Zero Friction in Compliance Reviews: The parameters are fully open, transparent, and compliant with the IEC 60079 series standards, providing highly persuasive technical documentation for owners, EPCs, and third-party auditors.
Applications
Backed by strong refrigerant compatibility and pressure control precision, this series of explosion-proof compressors is widely integrated into CNWINNEX explosion-proof air conditioners (split, packaged, rooftop), suitable for:
l Oil, Gas & Petrochemical: Refinery process units with alternating high and low temperatures, and natural gas processing plants with high leakage risks.
l Offshore & Marine: Explosion-proof control rooms that need to adapt to vessel motion and seawater cooling systems (fixed installation types).
l New Energy & Special Industries: Lithium battery production and storage areas (with extremely high requirements for temperature, humidity, and safety), and military explosion-proof laboratories.
